From 23 to 27 February 2026, ATER Fondazione hosted Capacity Building on Accessibility Management for Theatre Operators at Teatro della Regina in Cattolica, Italy. Organised within the European We Want More! project, the five-day training brought together 30 theatre professionals from across Europe, the Balkans, Ukraine and Türkiye to develop more inclusive and accessible practices in the performing arts. The project is co-funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe Programme.

Sessions explored universal design, accessibility as a relational practice, and how to plan, fund and assess inclusive events. Participants also discussed access services—including audio description, surtitles and sign language—relaxed performances, audience feedback, and European approaches to participation and access. The programme combined seminars, workshops, case studies and a focus group, creating space to share experience and develop practical ideas for more inclusive theatre management.

The training concluded with the public roundtable “Rethinking Access: Dialogue on Policy, Practice and Disability in the Performing Arts,” bringing together perspectives from the cultural sector and public policy.
