Submissions closed

The open call for the Capacity Building for Inclusion of Theatre Artists workshop, organized by We Want More!, has officially closed. The international training course received over 170 submissions from theatre artists, with or without disabilities, across Europe and neighboring regions.
A jury, composed of one representative from each partner organisation (Teatro São Luiz, FEDAPAS, ATER Fondazione, PLAVO Theatre, THEAMA – Inclusive Theatre, Sommerblut Kulturfestival) and the project curator Marco Paiva, will select 30 participants, to be announced by the end of June.
Scheduled to take place from September 12 to 16, 2025, at Teatro São Luiz in Lisbon, Portugal, the workshop aims to enhance skills and competencies related to inclusive theatre practices. It seeks to promote equal opportunities and facilitate greater access to the performing arts market, empowering directors, actors, writers, crew members, and technicians to include disabled persons in their work.
Over five days, participants will engage in sessions with experts from diverse fields focusing on accessibility and inclusion, participate in discussions, and exchange ideas on creating more inclusive artistic environments. The event also aims to develop actionable recommendations, which will be compiled into a publicly shared document to guide future inclusive practices in theatre.
The high level of interest, reflected in the more than 170 submissions, underscores the growing commitment within the arts community to foster diversity and inclusion. The initiative highlights a collective effort to make the performing arts environment more accessible and representative of society’s diversity.
