On 2 December 2022, from 9.00 to 16.00, in Bologna, on the premises of the LabOratorio San Filippo Neri, ATER Fondazione will host half a day of presentations, sharing of best practice and structures dialogue on inclusion in the world of theatre.
This will be the final event of the INCLUSIVE THEATER(S) Project, co-financed by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, and the beginning of new actions.
The President of ATER, Orsola Patrizia Ghedini and Gianni Cottafavi – Head of the Cultural Activities Sector, Economics of Culture, Youth of the Emilia-Romagna Region will open the works; will follow the presentation of the actions and results of the project by Mary Dragatakis, representing the Greek partner of the project, THE.AMA – Theatro Atomon me Anapiria.
The first part of the conference represents an important opportunity to learn about and compare the strategies on accessibility and inclusion of the public with visual and hearing disabilities implemented in Italy and abroad, with speeches by various exponents: Donatella Ferrante, Management Consultant General Entertainment of the Ministry of Culture; Annalisa Rabitti, Councilor for Culture, Territorial Marketing, Equal Opportunities and Barrier-Free Cities of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia; Aleksandra Djordjevic, Councilor for the development of cultural creation policies for socially disadvantaged categories of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia; Ben Evans, representing the British Council (United Kingdom) and María Ángeles López Amado, Director General for Accessibility of the Regional Government of Extremadura (Spain).
In the second part, cultural operators and the interested public will have the opportunity to discuss the topic in more depth through participation in three focus groups, moderated by experts, on the needs related to accessibility for live entertainment point of view of artists with disabilities, theater operators and spectators.
In the afternoon, at the conclusion of the conference, the results of the working tables will be presented with all the participants, and the conclusions will be drawn.
Participation in the conference is free and open to all those who are interested in taking part. Subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing, simultaneous translation into Italian sign language (LIS) for the deaf and hard of hearing and simultaneous Italian-English translation are provided.
